ATV Aerial Installations

Not all aerial installations are the same, a few minutes * exploring this site will prove that to you.
Even if you use some other installer time spent on this
site is still worthwhile as you will know what to ask before,
and what to check afterwards.
There is even a reasonable chance this site could tell you
that you don`t actually need any work doing at all !
* (For those who only have 30 seconds, click on Poles picture)

Remember Every A.T.V Aerial Installation Uses :-

1  Digital approved aerials (Log / Yagi18 / DY )

2  Digital approved satellite grade cable

3  Digital approved screened amps or splitters (if required)

4  Alloy masts (1.25"x 16 gauge on all 6ft) for no rusting problems

5  Welded, galvanised brackets
For strength and no unsightly rust staining

Please note that we only install aerials around Sheffield, for installs out of our area see article on “Choosing An Aerial Installer”.
Why don`t you fit it yourself anyway ? All the information you need
to do the job is on this site, somewhere...  If you buy the materials from us they`ll probably be better quality than those fitted by most aerial riggers anyway ! Don`t forget you can always hire the ladders,
though always take care, especially with roof ladders.

www.paras.org.uk  Don`t get ripped off for digital !

Before commencing any job ATV will undertake a (ground based)
site survey to confirm the customer actually needs the work doing. As an example, it is  fairly common for an aerial job to end up being just a “set up” or a recable etc. We will only undertake work which is actually required by the customer. In addition we will confirm that the job is possible, e.g. does the customer have a realistic chance
of decent Digital television reception ?
Are there any height or access problems ? If the installation is
more than 25ft from the ground we would need (at additional charge)
a second man and a bigger ladder, if it is more than 33ft we would
not attempt it. Finally, are there any obstructions to the positioning
of the ladders, e.g. a conservatory, or bushes in the garden.
We haven`t got a flying carpet you know !
The cost of the site survey is included in the price of any job which is undertaken there and then.
The site survey is chargeable if the customer does not have
any work done at the time or the job is not possible/practical.

“Why should I have to pay for being told that I don`t actually need any work doing ?” Those installers professing to do a “Free Call Out” are in an awkward position. Obviously no-one can afford to work for nothing so the temptation must be to recommend work
which may not be required. Ironically, most of our customers who
just pay the Site Survey Fee (other than access problems
preventing the job being done) are in all probability saving money !

Please note that inclement weather (particularly high winds) can occasionally prevent aerial installation work, this is particularly the case if the use of a roof ladder is involved.
Your understanding at such times is appreciated !

There is parking available in the bays on Langsett Rd and also
on Hatton Rd. Loading and unloading is permitted in the
Bus Stop outside the shop
(except 8 - 9.30 AM & after
4.30 PM, both Mon-Fri).

A.T.V are an established business with shop premises.

Our warranty can

be relied on.

Shop open 9.00AM to 5.30PM Monday to Saturday.

We have been trading in Sheffield since 1994 and the shop on Langsett Rd was opened in 1996.

As our website address

suggests, we are one of the few companies who not only sell

and install TV aerials but also repair, service and “set up” the

TVs themselves.

Welcome to the ATV

website, it`s probably the most extensive aerials site

on the Internet and

even “the trade” use it.

In fact we use it if we want

to check up on anything to

do with aerials !

If you`re just browsing our site out of a general interest in RF reception you`re more than welcome, although you`re obviously even more welcome if you actually

buy something from us !

However, to be frank,

those using our site

and then buying

from somewhere else,

are a little bit less welcome.

If you`ve found this site informative we`d be

grateful for links onto it

from any other website.

Our Philosophy

The Forth Rail Bridge :

built to last,

like everything we sell.

We are told that, apparently,

this site is quite amusing in places. I wouldn`t know about that, but the funniest bits are probably listed here.
